Latest Activities

St. Peter’s has been on the move planning, serving, and growing together.  The last few months we planned and served local veterans at our Annual Veterans Day Soup and Chili Supper.  Now we are preparing for the birth of our Savior with our Journey to Christmas opportunities.  We invite you to join us as we continue to grow together and seek to know more about the great love of God.

Dinner Church Interview

Have you heard about Dinner Church at St. Peter’s?  We are excited to open our doors to our community to gather for a free meal, prayer, and discussion.  This past Friday, Fr. Rob Goebel had the opportunity to chat with Leon on WBYS 1560 about Dinner Church and what to expect.  We invite to listen and join us for our first dinner on Wednesday, June 6th at 6p.  Bring friends and family – everyone is invited!

Listen to Fr. Rob’s interview here.

Thanks Girl Scouts

Thank you, Troop 4814 for cleaning up around the church and planting beautiful tulips!  It is a privilege to host you at our church.  We look forward to seeing how this new Girl Scout troop grows and serves our community.

Alleluia! Christ is risen!

Alleluia! Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia!

We had a blessed Holy Week at St. Peter’s!  We are now in The Great 50 Days of Easter!  Each Sunday we will continue to celebrate the Easter feast with special music, readings, and colors.  It’s a fantastic reminder that Christ is alive and with us today.  We hope you’ll join throughout the Easter season as we continue to seek the risen King!

Palm Sunday 2018

This Palm Sunday was an extra special one as our friends from The Salvation Army, Canton joined us for worship.  We had a blessed time processing together, reading the Passion Narrative, receiving Communion, and praying together at the prayer stations.  We look forward to other opportunities to worship together!

Invitation to Holy Week

Fr. Robbie invites you to join St. Peter’s during Holy Week beginning next Sunday, March 25th with Palm Sunday. What is Holy Week? Holy Week is a time to remember Christ’s final week on earth taking us through his triumphant entry into Jerusalem, His last supper, death on the cross, and finally His victorious resurrection.

Check out our FB events for more information about each opportunity during Holy Week or visit our Journey to Easter page.

Bishop’s Visit 2018

This past Sunday, Bishop Morales joined us for Holy Eucharist.  During worship, Bp. Morales encouraged us to continue to be rooted, compassionate, and missional in our community.  After his sermon, Bp. Morales marked the candidate for baptism with the sign of the cross and Fr. Rob baptized him at the font.  Following the baptism, Bp. Morales confirmed the candidates for confirmation sealing their belief and trust in Christ.  It was a beautiful day welcoming the Bishop and supporting our newest members in their decision of faith.

Journey to Easter

Lent is in full swing at St. Peter’s.  As we pray, fast, and give through the season, we are looking ahead to victory in Christ’s resurrection.  During these 40 days we invite you to join us as we pray for community, collect donations for a local resource center – Love, Inc; and personally fast to grow closer to God.

Before the 40 days of Lent are over we will enter into Holy Week.  What is Holy Week?  A time to remember Christ’s last week before His glorious resurrection.  During Holy Week, we will have several opportunities to gather together and live into the various parts that the lead to the triumphant resurrection of Christ.  Living into Holy Week brings a sense of awe and victory to Easter Sunday.  We hope you’ll join us…

Feel free to check out more about Lent and Holy Week at St. Peter’s here.

Canton Lego Builders Club Expands

Canton Lego Builders Club is expanding to provide building opportunities throughout the Canton area.  Last week we had the privilege to kick off Westview Lego Builders Club at Westview Elementary!  Students K-4th grade enjoyed a time of “free building” with volunteers and parents.  The Westview Cafeteria was buzzing with 70 students plus parents and volunteers building various creations.  It was a fantastic kick off!

Canton Lego Builders Club is excited to partner with other churches to sponsor additional lego clubs throughout Canton!  We’ll post more once details are finalized!  If your church or organization would like to sponsor a lego club, please contact Fr. Rob for more information.

The Latest Happenings

We’ve been busy at St. Peter’s the past few weeks reaching out to our community here in Canton.  Here’s a glimpse of what’s been happening at St. Peter’s…..

Veterans Day Soup and Chili Supper

On November 11th, we had the privilege to serve our local veterans at our Annual Veterans Day Soup and Chili Supper.  The evening included a raffle, 50/50 Drawing, and delicious soups and chili.  All the proceeds from the 50/50 drawing were given to  the family of Sgt. Douglas Riney while all other proceeds were given to the Canton VFW to help our local veterans in need.  This year we were blessed to have a large portion of the food donated by Canton Hy-Vee and several raffle items were donated by WBYS, Black Maple, and American Grille.  Volunteers from the local Girl Scouts, St. Peter’s, and other community members helped to make the event possible.  It was a fantastic night to see our community rally together to serve those who served our country.

Lego Builders Club Rings Bells

Canton Lego Builders Club served our community by ringing bells for the Canton Salvation Army at Farm King.  It was a great way to put what we have learned at LBC into practice.  The Salvation Army did a volunteer highlight of the builders ringing which helped the kids see the importance of what they were doing.

St. Nicholas Day Celebration

On December 6th, we had our Annual St. Nicholas Day Celebration.  The evening included a special visit from St. Nicholas who told us stories about his work and Christmas traditions, fun St. Nicholas inspired games like a penny toss, and crafts.  The night was filled with joy as kids ran from  station to station and enjoyed delicious treats.
